Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Taylor Cole threw 1,523 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2017 and 2019, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2019, they relied primarily on their Fourseam Fastball (93mph), Change (87mph) and Slider (87mph). He also rarely threw a Curve (81mph).
In 2019, compared to other RHP:
Their fourseam fastball generates more whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' fourseamers, has some natural sinking action, has essentially average velo and has slight armside run. Their change is a real worm killer that generates an extreme number of groundballs compared to other pitchers' changeups, is much firmer than usual, has slight armside fade and has some natural sink to it. Their slider is a real worm killer that generates an extreme number of groundballs compared to other pitchers' sliders, is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' sliders, is much harder than usual, has less than expected depth and has primarily 12-6 movement.
